| One Canada manufacture used #4 standard double sided HSS center drills in left/right hand turrets simultaneously operation lathe to produce automotive parts. In order to get better performance on high volume parts, they intended to replace HSS drill by Nine9 indexable center drill (i-Center). The trial was switching right hand tool to Nine9 i-Center standard insert and holder, ANSI 60゜ size #4.. Machining condition was set under 2,000 rpm and a feed of 0.06mm per rev, governed by the maximum speed of the slowest tool, the HSS left hand center drill. Result was beyond their expectations when they finally got over 5,000pcs parts which outlast the tool life of HSS center drill average 800pcs. Tool life increased to 6x times longer, rate of 625% improvement by just switching right hand tool by Nine9 indexable center drill. In order to elevate the performance comprehensively, can Nine 9 offer i-Center in left hand as well? YES, WE CAN.
