Yes, absolutely. The Nine9 MCC thread mill can directly cut Rc (PT) 1/4–19 internal threads in SUS304 without pre-milling the taper.
Recommended setup:
Insert: R05510-09516-32 (6-flute MCC insert)
Vc: 60 m/min S: 2000 rpm f: 0.005 mm/tooth (≈60 mm/min)
Client: Why MCC is efficient here?
Nine9 Engineering: 6-flute insert = higher #productivity: With six effective flutes, the feed per revolution is multiplied (fz × 6), enabling a noticeably faster cycle while maintaining excellent finish and gauge control.
Client: Why this works on taper threads?
Nine9 Engineering: The MCC toolpath uses helical interpolation with a taper (1:16 for Rc threads). The tool simultaneously moves in XY and Z while slightly changing radius per pitch, generating the 55° Whitworth tapered profile. You do not need to pre-mill the taper.
Ensure proper pilot hole and verify with Rc 1/4–19 gauge.
